WARNING: Auburn’s Scheme Has Been FIGURED OUT | Auburn Podcast
Auburn football said it wanted to run the football. Now it's time to actually show that commitment. After the loss to Florida, one of the biggest questions facing Alex Golesh and this Auburn offense is why Jeremiah Cobb isn't getting more opportunities. When Cobb got the football early against Florida, he produced. Yet Auburn repeatedly moved away from the running game and put more responsibility on Byrum Brown and a passing attack operating behind an offensive line that continues to struggle. That's difficult to understand. If Auburn can't consistently protect Brown, then the answer can't simply be asking him to drop back more often and make something happen. The coaching staff has had an entire offseason and three games to evaluate this offensive line. At this point, Auburn knows what it has. So what's the pivot? If running directly into a stacked box isn't working, attack the edges. Get Cobb outside. Use different concepts. Create opportunities for the running backs to get into space.
