Can Oklahoma Survive Auburn’s Defense? I Durkin's Scoring Defense Is Stingy I Auburn Football Podcast

BREAKING: Auburn Football heads into Norman for one of the toughest road tests of the 2025 season — a primetime battle with Oklahoma. Both defenses have looked elite through three games, but this matchup will test who can impose their will for four quarters. Auburn’s defense has been stingy against the run, holding opponents to just 67 yards per game. That number could be the difference as the Sooners enter with one of the worst rushing offenses in the SEC. If Oklahoma can’t establish balance, quarterback John Mateer will be forced to carry the load through the air against a defense built to take advantage of mistakes. On the flip side, Jackson Arnold and Auburn’s offense have not been asked to throw much this year thanks to a physical rushing attack. But Oklahoma’s defense has the talent to push Auburn out of its comfort zone. The question is whether Auburn’s receivers, who already force defensive coordinators to alter their schemes just by lining up, will be the X-factor. This game feels like a true test of wills — one that could come down to turnovers, special teams, or a single big play late in the fourth quarter. Auburn fans have seen their team rise in these kinds of SEC battles before. Oklahoma believes it is ready for the challenge, but the tape shows this is a much tougher fight than some national voices are predicting.
