Liberals Blame Loyola Student for her own Death rather than the Illegal Immigrant who Shot Her

From The 47 Morning Update with Ben Ferguson iHeartPodcasts

1. Illegal Immigrants in America

Democratic immigration policies (e.g., “catch and release” and sanctuary laws) have enabled violent undocumented immigrants to remain in the U.S., leading directly to murders and attempted murders of American citizens.

2. Primary Case Study: Chicago Murder

The killing of Sheridan Gorman, an 18‑year‑old Loyola University Chicago freshman.
The accused is described as a Venezuelan undocumented immigrant who:
- Entered the U.S. in May 2023.
- Was released under federal immigration policy.
- Was later arrested for a nonviolent offense and released again due to local sanctuary policies.
Prosecutors allege the attack was random, with the victim shot while fleeing.
The case is used as the symbolic centerpiece of the argument.

3. Criticism of Local Democratic Officials

A Chicago alderman for comments interpreted as minimizing the crime or implying “wrong place, wrong time.”
These remarks are victim‑blaming and morally offensive.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries for declining to immediately state that the accused should be deported if convicted.

4. Additional Crime Examples

Utah: An undocumented immigrant charged with attempted murder after allegedly slitting a woman’s throat.
Virginia: Another undocumented immigrant charged with murder, with a history of multiple prior arrests

5. Immigration Enforcement Argument

- ICE detainers are being ignored by local governments.
- Sanctuary policies prevent cooperation between local police and federal authorities.
Portrays ICE and DHS as essential public‑safety institutions unfairly attacked by Democrats.
