The Book Club - The Master: The Brilliant Career of Roger Federer with Christopher Clarey, tennis writer for The New York Times

In the latest episode of The Passing Shot, the tennis podcast by fans, Joel chats with New York Times tennis correspondent Christopher Clarey about his latest book ‘The Master: The Brilliant Career of Roger Federer’ on The Book Club.

Together, they discuss a host of topics including what are the universal qualities Roger Federer possesses to bring in fans beyond the realms of tennis; the biggest matches of his career including how his biggest losses helped shape him; his legacy in the context of the Big 3 and what's left for him at this stage of his career with more knee surgery ahead and retirement seemingly looming.

They also chat about what it's like to meet Roger Federer, drawing upon Christopher's own personal experiences, Federer's greatest influences during his formative years plus how he transitioned to become the cool, calm, sophisticated image many of us know him for personifying today.
