Roland-Garros Day 15: Zverev finally gets a grand slam title!

Alexander Zverev is finally a Grand Slam champion! The whole gang is back at Tennis Weekly HQ to react to the German’s dramatic five-set victory over Flavio Cobolli in the 2026 Roland Garros final, as he captures his maiden major title at the fourth attempt and becomes the first German man to win a Grand Slam singles title since 1996. The team discuss where the match was won and lost, whether the pressure is now off Zverev heading into the rest of the season, and how this year’s French Open will be remembered after a fortnight packed with shocks, breakthrough stars and unexpected storylines. They also address the ‘anyone but Zverev’ chants and why Zverev might not be the most popular champion plus who their picks are for the next first-time Grand Slam champion.

Away from Paris, attention turns to the grass-court season as Serena Williams speaks publicly for the first time ahead of her highly anticipated return to professional tennis at Queen’s Club. Joel was on hand to breathe it all in - including her practice session with Victoria Mboko - to give the real verdict on how she is shaping up ahead of her return. Plus, the winner of the Tennis Weekly Roland Garros Collect A Set competition is revealed and we reflect on an unforgettable two weeks in Paris.
