Roland-Garros Day 10: Fonseca run ended, Zverev handling the pressure + Andreeva vs Kostyuk in SF

We’re back at Tennis Weekly HQ to round up all the action from Day 10 at Roland Garros as the quarter-finals got underway in Paris. Kim and Chris dive into Marta Kostyuk’s standout victory over Elina Svitolina in a historic all-Ukrainian quarter-final, as she extends her remarkable clay-court winning streak to reach her first Grand Slam semi-final. We also discuss Mirra Andreeva’s dominant display as the teenage sensation powers into the final four, setting up a fascinating showdown with Kostyuk for a place in the French Open final.

On the men’s side, Alexander Zverev lived up to the ‘favourite’ billing once again and kept his title hopes alive by ending the dream run of teenage wildcard Rafael Jodar, while Jakub Mensik battled on with an impressive victory over Joao Fonseca. The team debate what Mensik’s win means for the much heralded Next Gen on the ATP Tour and whether Zverev is peaking at exactly the right time with the draw now wide open. Plus, the return of Parisian rain, Joel’s surprising Collect-a-Set predictions, and a look ahead to Day 11 with Aryna Sabalenka and three Italians (Berrettini, Arnaldi, Cobolli!) bidding to make the semifinals…
