How Ole Miss landed Northwestern slugger Anthony Calarco, in his own words

In this edition of Franchise Player, in association with the Ole Miss Spirit, an affiliate of On3.com, Ben Garrett is joined by Anthony Calarco, a slugging first baseman from Northwestern.

Calarco committed to the defending national champion Ole Miss Rebels on Sunday.

Calarco, who bats right and throws left, started 51 games for Northwestern last season. He hit .325 with a team-high 13 home runs, and he also led the team with a 1.051 OPS, 48 runs scored, 34 walks, and 54 RBI.

All were career-highs.

Calarco has a year of eligibility remaining, and Ole Miss, he said, was an easy call.

But don't take our word for it.

Calarco goes in-depth on his second recruiting process, including the plan Ole Miss has laid out for him, the schools he considered and much, much more.
