Christmas Come Early: Ole Miss has nation’s No. 2 portal class so far

Ole Miss has 18 transfer commitments in a class ranked second nationally by On3.

And yet there’s some online discourse the Rebels aren’t having the same portal success as previous cycles. The Ole Miss Spirit’s Ben Garrett and Zach Berry vehemently disagree.

Ole Miss is executing its plan to build out a roster that can grow with and around first-year quarterback Austin Simmons.

The Rebels have plenty of work left to do.

The first of two transfer windows closes on December 28. Players on postseason teams will also be granted five days after their seasons end to enter the portal if they so choose.

Put simply, the Rebels are far from done in addressing their needs, not to mention they’ll have a spring cycle to navigate in April. Where could they turn? Who are they targeting? What’s the deal with running back, namely the recruitment of Alabama’s Justice Haynes?

‘Talk of Champions’ attempts to make sense of it all in a Christmas Eve edition powered, as always, by RiverLand Roofing. Text or call RiverLand for all your roofing needs: 662-644-4297. Few, if any, are doing more for Ole Miss in the NIL (name, image and likeness) space. Visit them online at RiverLandRoofing.com.
