Alicia Witt: Grief, David Lynch and Her New Album

Actress and musician Alicia Witt opens up about Between Heaven and Earth, her deeply personal new album shaped by her decades-long friendship with David Lynch — whom she met at age seven on the set of Dune. Alicia talks with Buzz Knight about grief, intuition, and why she recorded the album live with a full band in New York City. “There’s a beauty in imperfection,” she says. “That’s where the real music lives.” This episode of The Music History Podcast traces how acting and songwriting inform each other in her creative life, and how she’s honoring Lynch’s memory through her music.
