Vaxcyte Surges, Harley Davidson Gains, CH Robinson Drops on News it Will Buy RXO for $5.8 Billion
On this episode of Stock Movers:
- Vaxcyte (PCVX) shares surge. The pharmaceutical firm said that VAX-31, its experimental vaccine to prevent invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) and pneumococcal pneumonia, met all primary endpoints in the OPUS-1 pivotal Phase 3 adult trial, compared to PCV20 and PCV21.
- Harley Davidson (HOG) shares gain. Citi upgraded the motorcycle company to buy from neutral, writing that an acceleration in retail growth is “tough to ignore.” What began as modest retail improvement early in 2026 now appears to be building, with 2027 likely to benefit from a major product introduction, a significant cost-savings story, and potential earnings tailwinds from LiveWire,” writes analyst James Hardiman.
- CH Robinson (CHRW) shares are down. CH Robinson Worldwide Inc. agreed to buy RXO Inc. in a deal valued at about $5.8 billion to diversify its business and capitalize on RXO’s abilities in expedited and last-mile delivery. CH Robinson aims to use its AI-based model to extract $300 million of cost savings within two years and improve efficiency in a challenging freight market. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2027 and will bolster CH Robinson’s standing as North America’s largest broker by revenue, with RXO shareholders expected to own 11% of the combined company upon closing.
