Micron Jumps; Northrop Grumman, Moderna Slide
Today's biggest winners and losers in the stock market.
On this episode of Stock Movers:
- Micron Technology Inc. (MU) shares jumped after the largest US maker of memory chips gave a sales forecast for the current quarter that shattered estimates after the AI building frenzy fueled unprecedented demand.
- Northrop Grumman (NOC) stocks fell after the Pentagon selected the Boeing over rival Northrop Grumman, to build the Navy’s next-generation fighter jet — the Sixth-Generation F/A-XX Strike Fighter, which a JPMorgan analyst called an important win.
- Moderna (MRNA) shares fell the most in a month on Wednesday as a Citigroup Inc. analyst recommended selling the stock, saying its current valuation is “unjustifiable” following an outsized rally. The vaccine maker has been on a tear this year, with most of the stock’s near 600% surge coming off the back of positive data from the firm’s cancer vaccine with Merck & Co. in August.
