HSBC Stays Flat, Lufthansa Falls, Bayer Rises
Today's biggest winners and losers in the stock market.
On this episode of Stock Movers:
- HSBC shares were broadly flat in early London trading after the British lender reported second-quarter earnings that beat estimates despite China’s crackdown on cross-border wealth flows.
- Lufthansa shares dropped as much as 9.4%, the most since March, after the airline warned of heightened uncertainty for its full-year outlook as volatility in jet fuel prices and shortened booking cycles complicate efforts to boost profit.
- Bayer shares rise after the German life science giant posted an unexpected increase in profit in the second quarter, helped by a strong performance in its crop science business.
