The Ghost Crew of the USS Alabama

Commissioned during the height of World War II, the 44,000-ton battleship USS Alabama (BB-60)—affectionately known as "The Lucky A"—braved enemy fire, fierce typhoons, and the deadliest naval campaigns of the Pacific Theater while earning nine battle stars. But even the luckiest ships carry deep scars; in February 1944, a catastrophic turret explosion claimed the lives of five young sailors deep within its armored hull. Saved from the scrap yard by the schoolchildren and citizens of Alabama in 1964, the historic warship now rests as a floating museum in Mobile Bay, where visitors, staff, and paranormal investigators regularly report that its wartime crew never fully stood down. From phantom booted footsteps echoing through narrow passageways and disembodied voices barking orders, to apparitions of uniformed sailors vanishing down steel ladders and lingering cold spots near the fatal gun mount, host Allen Sircy dives into the harrowing history and spectral lore of the mighty battleship that seemingly refuses to give up its final watch.
