The Doorstep Is the Decision Point: Spotting the Walmart "Redelivery" Scam

The Hamblen County Sheriff's Office in East Tennessee is warning about scammers who place unauthorized orders on victims' Walmart accounts. Once the package arrives, someone posing as Walmart or contracted delivery staff shows up to take it back, sometimes pushing to get inside. Deputies urge residents not to hand over packages or admit anyone based on a verbal claim alone. The best defense is a habit: verify through channels you control before you ever open the door.
