SKULL & BONES, LDS CHURCH, THE MORMON CABAL — JUSTIN RIGGS | AU 689

Researcher Justin Riggs joins us to examine the controversial claim surrounding former LDS Church President Russell M. Nelson and the Skull and Bones society. Nelson wrote in his autobiography From Heart to Heart that he was elected to a University of Utah organization called Skull and Bones—but what exactly did that mean, and how closely was that group connected to the famous Yale secret society?

Justin has spent years researching LDS history, secret societies, fraternities, institutional networks and historical records connected to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In this discussion, we’ll look at Nelson’s own words, university records, competing interpretations of the evidence and Justin’s reasons for questioning whether Nelson’s Skull and Bones affiliation is as straightforward as it first appears. Was the matter settled by Nelson’s autobiography, or are there still unanswered questions?
