Texans RB Jawhar Jordan on CJ Stroud, David Montgomery, Woody Marks & His NFL Journey

Houston Stressans sat down with Texans running back Jawhar Jordan for an in-depth conversation about his football journey, the adversity he has overcome, and his experiences in Houston.

Jordan reflected on the challenges he faced throughout his career, including injuries and limited opportunities that he had to overcome on his way to the NFL and again as a young player at the professional level. He discussed the mindset required to stay ready, continue developing, and make the most of every opportunity.

We also talked about Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, whom Jordan described as a great leader that the entire team rallies behind, as well as head coach DeMeco Ryans and the culture that has been built throughout the organization.

Other topics included what he learned from playing alongside Joe Mixon last season, the leadership already being displayed by new teammate David Montgomery, his thoughts on fellow Texans rookie running back Woody Marks, and the competition within the running back room.

Jordan also discussed his running style, the possibility of contributing as a kick returner after returning kicks in college, working with offensive coordinator Nick Caley, and why he believes big things are ahead for Houston's offense. The conversation wrapped up with some fun discussion about his hometown New York Knicks and their matchup with the Spurs in the NBA Finals.
