Aaron Wilson's Final Texans Update Before Training Camp: David Montgomery, C.J. Stroud, Injury News & More

From Second Guessan with Stressan: A Houston Texans Podcast Garret Williams aka Houston Stressans, Texanscommenter

With Houston Texans training camp about to begin, I was joined by KPRC 2's Aaron Wilson for one final look at the team before players hit the practice field.

Aaron shares the latest injury updates on Marlin Klein, M.J. Stewart, Braden Smith, Logan Hall, Nico Collins, Tank Dell and more while discussing everything he's heard covering the Texans throughout the offseason.

In this conversation, we discuss:
• The latest injury news and what to expect as training camp opens.
• Why David Montgomery enters camp as Houston's lead running back and how the Texans envision the backfield with Woody Marks and British Brooks, who have both made notable physical transformations this offseason.
• C.J. Stroud's outlook for 2026, why Aaron views last year's playoff performance as more of an outlier than evidence of him being a "choker," and why he expects Stroud to have a strong season.
• Expectations for the Texans offense and offensive line heading into camp.
• Logan Hall's versatility and how he could make an impact playing both inside and on the edge.
• Why Jayden Higgins could be in line for a breakout second season.
• Veteran free agents the Texans could target after evaluating the roster during training camp.
• The biggest position battles, roster questions and storylines to watch over the coming weeks.

We also spend time discussing Aaron's career as an NFL journalist, including the realities of covering an NFL team year-round, building league sources, balancing speed with accuracy, and what goes into reporting on the Texans behind the scenes.
