Amazon began by selling books. Now, it's scanning and destroying them for AI

Microsoft workers reportedly were concerned about how its partner Open AI was obtaining its training data. They called it the “largest theft of labor in human history.” And AI companies aren’t just looking for training data on the internet. 404 Media recently uncovered how Amazon is scrapping data from physical books, then destroying them.
