Reserve Bank Governor Michele Bullock says economic indicators suggest that inflation is likely to stay elevated for longer than the base case scenario forecast by the central bank. The Government blames rising inflation on higher fuel prices driven by the conflict in the Middle East. Hundreds of Qantas freight handling and QantasLink ground services workers have staged a 24 hour strike. - オーストラリア統計局が発表した９月の消費者物価指数（CPI）は、前年同月比で4.3％上昇しました。オーストラリア準備銀行（RBA）が来月の理事会で利上げを行うとの見方が強まっています。RBAのミシェル・ブロック総裁は、経済指標を見ると、インフレの水準は引き続き高い水準にとどまる見通しが強く、その期間はRBAが想定する基本的なシナリオよりも長くなるだろうとの見方を示しました。カンタス航空の貨物取り扱いスタッフとカンタスリンクの地上サービスの従業員数百人が、24時間のストライキに入りました。
