Time and Chance

The sermon explores Ecclesiastes 9 through the lens of a worldly perspective, emphasizing that Solomon's observations reflect a fleshly viewpoint where life appears as vanity. It clarifies that while death is the common event for all, it is not the end of the story, refuting the idea that the grave is hell by pointing to the eternal existence of the soul. The text addresses the concept of 'time and chance,' explaining that life's unpredictability and suffering are not always direct results of personal sin but part of God's sovereign plan. The message encourages believers to live with joy and purpose in the present, recognizing that their true reward lies in eternity rather than in earthly achievements. Finally, it highlights the power of wisdom and individual influence, urging the congregation to be builders of the church rather than destroyers.
