Resistance Music 4.23.26
This has been a long time coming. Before I decided to run for Colorado House District 47 (learn more about that here: Vic Meyers for Democracy), I committed to having a TikTok live event and then a YouTube live event and, if things went well, a Substack live event to use my channels to promote artists who perform resistance music. This should have happened two months ago but since I announced my campaign, something I wasn’t planning on doing at the time, I’ve been too busy.
The TikTok finally got scheduled. I’m not sure if I’ll get to the YouTube one. I’m still hoping to choose one or two of the artists who perform and do a Substack live.
I think protest music is incredibly important and this is my way of using my platform to help get more of it out there.
I also talk a little about the Virginia redistricting election victory. I don’t think we should be celebrating it so much. In addition to the bigger picture (it’s still gerrymandering), everybody seems to think this is guaranteed victory.
Don’t count your chickens before they hatch.
