Episode 102. Insights From The Podcast & Strategies That Have Helped Me in Challenging Situations – Harsha Boralessa

Now that we have passed 100 Reframe & Reset Your Career podcast episodes, I wanted to experiment a little more with the podcast. In that spirit, I wanted to conduct a small experiment by recording my first solo episode and share some insights that I have picked up from starting a podcast and also some strategies that have helped me in a couple of situations where I have faced challenging circumstances.

In this episode, I talk about:

How starting the podcast was like a small experiment,

Reframing the podcast and seeing that the potential upside outweighed the drawbacks,

Focusing on the content creation process and the elements that I could control,

How I committed to the project for a year and focused on the long game,

The power of creating content on a consistent basis,

The importance of speaking up and advocating for yourself if you’re not getting the promotion or pay raise you deserve,

Maintaining a good attitude and providing value at work even if you’re not being rewarded as sometimes you may get a lucky break or use that experience to move,

Being strategic and thinking through your options rather than acting impulsively,

Focusing on gaining the right experience rather than financial gain may be more lucrative in the long run, and

Don’t take rejection personally and maintain good relationships with potential employers/ managers.
