Real Life Real Crime | Shawn Grate Part 2: The Whisper That Stopped a Killer

In Part 2 of Cyndi Overton's deep dive into serial killer Shawn Grate, the story reaches its dramatic conclusion. After years of targeting vulnerable women across Ohio, Grate believed he was untouchable. He had already murdered multiple victims and was hiding bodies inside an abandoned house in Ashland County. But everything changed when one woman refused to become his next victim. Held captive for two days, beaten, assaulted, and trapped inside a house of horrors, she waited for a single opportunity. When Grate finally fell asleep beside her, she made a whispered 911 call that would expose a serial killer and end years of violence. This episode follows the remarkable survival story, the police response, the discovery inside the Covert Court house, Grate's confessions, trial, conviction, and death sentence. Most importantly, it honors the women whose lives mattered long before they became victims.
