Was the Ghost Getting Even with Dad? | Real Ghost Stories CLASSIC

His father liked to frighten his mother with fake footsteps. In a house where footsteps already crossed the empty upstairs, it wasn’t a joke she appreciated. There was also a stubborn door that scraped loudly whenever anyone moved it—yet somehow kept opening without a sound.

Then the lights began going out.

His father spent months replacing fuses before discovering something he hadn’t thought to check. But fixing the problem didn’t end it, and his attempts to keep the cellar lit only made the situation stranger. His mother refused to go down there herself, leaving him to get out of bed and investigate.

The timing was what stayed with her: the trouble so often began just after he fell asleep. Was there an explanation he hadn’t found—or had the family prankster attracted the attention of someone who could play along?
