They Expected Ghost Stories—Just Not Their Own | Real Ghost Stories

Two sisters had wanted to visit Salem for years, drawn by the history, the witch trials, and yes, even the ghost stories. When they finally made the trip in October, they were thrilled just to find a room at the Salem Inn and never thought to research whether the hotel itself had a haunted reputation.

During their stay, strange little things began happening. One sister repeatedly spotted a black cat that seemed to disappear whenever she tried to follow it. Both heard what sounded like a child running through the hallway late at night. And on their final night, something happened at the foot of the bed that was much harder to explain.

Still, they found reasonable excuses for all of it.

Then they got home and started reading about the Salem Inn.
