The Woman Three Generations Saw | After Midnight

As a child, she and her sister both saw a woman standing beside one of the beds in their upstairs bedroom. Years passed, and the story faded into something neither of them talked about very often.

Then her son began sleeping in that same room. He saw a woman there too.

Decades later, her granddaughter moved into the bedroom and described the same nighttime visitor—along with one detail that should have been impossible.

The woman held out one hand as though it were resting on something.

Something that had not been in that room for more than half a century.
