The Faceless Child in the Hallway | Real Ghost Stories

Some hauntings don’t arrive with slamming doors or shattered windows. They creep in quietly, piece by piece, until the ordinary becomes unbearable. For her and her sisters, their small apartment became exactly that — a place where something unseen shared their space.

It began with a feeling, a heaviness in the air, as if the apartment was already full when they moved in. Soon came the sightings — a soft blue glow drifting through bedrooms at night, giggles echoing in the hallway, and the unmistakable sound of footsteps when no one was awake. Most chilling of all was the child. Sometimes it appeared as a blur of movement, racing across the living room like her youngest sister. Other times, it was only a shadow at the edge of the bed. And once, it revealed itself fully — standing in the living room with no face at all.

We explore her chilling memories of the faceless child, the mysterious blue glow, and the haunting that turned a family’s apartment into a place they couldn’t wait to escape. Was it the spirit of a lost child? Something older, wearing a child’s shape to gain trust? Or a presence that shifted between comfort and terror depending on what it wanted?

One thing is certain — the apartment wasn’t empty. And whatever lived there made sure they knew it.
