Red Eyes on the Stairs | Real Ghost Stories CLASSIC

Before they ever stepped inside, she told her husband someone had died in the house. They bought it at auction anyway. Behind its charming exterior was a disturbing past, and the neighbors already had a name for the property: the haunted house. They gutted it, cleared away what had been left behind, and made it a home for their young family.

Despite everything she knew, she felt nothing there.

She had always considered herself sensitive, yet she could work alone before dawn without feeling watched or afraid. Her children knew nothing about the former owners or what their parents had removed. Then her two-year-old began screaming at the stairs—and his older brother asked a question that suggested this wasn’t his first encounter.

What were the children seeing that their mother couldn’t sense—and how much of the old house had really been cleared away?
