He Watched Them Until They Vanished | Real Ghost Stories

He knew every man working underground that night. He knew what time their shift ended, and he knew they shouldn't be coming out of the mine yet.

So who were the five miners and the dog walking up the hill toward him?

At first, there was nothing ghostly about them. They carried lunch boxes. They talked among themselves. One man had his arm around another's shoulder. Standing alone in the dark mining yard, he watched them get closer and closer, trying to figure out who they were and why they were there.

Then one of the miners saw him.

For several long seconds, neither of them moved.

What happened after that would stay with him for decades. But perhaps even more chilling was what happened when the real miners finally came out of the mountain—and an older worker took one look at him and asked a question that changed everything.
