Hauntings of Old Licking County Jail, Part One | The Grave Talks

This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE!

Old Licking County Jail was built to confine—but some believe it never truly let everything go.

Constructed in 1889 and modeled after the Tower of London, the jail held inmates for decades, with a history that includes violence, hardship, and more than 20 recorded deaths within its walls.

Today, the building stands as a reminder of that past—but for many who visit, it doesn’t feel entirely still.

Reports of footsteps in empty corridors, voices where no one is present, and sudden drops in temperature have made it a frequent stop for those looking to understand what might remain. Paranormal coordinator Darrin Smith has spent time inside documenting those experiences and trying to make sense of what continues to be reported.

In a place built to hold people in, it raises a question that hasn’t been fully answered: When the doors closed for the last time… what stayed behind?
