Half Man, Half Dog… All Evil: The Thing in the Dark | Real Ghost Stories CLASSIC

You’re nine years old, sprinting across the yard in a game of hide-and-seek you’ve played a hundred times. The only light is the porch glow behind you. The creek is dry, the concrete tunnels are the perfect hiding place… until you see that someone is already standing there.

A broad, solid body. Pitch-black silhouette. And where the human head should be—
a Rottweiler’s. It’s staring straight at you.

The next thing you know, you’re being dragged out from under the kitchen sink hours later, cabinet doors shut, cleaning bottles shoved in around you like you were packed away. You don’t remember running inside. You don’t remember hiding. You only remember the thing in the creek—and the way your family had been tearing the neighborhood apart looking for you.

Years later, on a lonely back road bridge, someone else finally sees what you saw that night. They’d never heard your story.
