Amityville: The Horror Behind the Haunting, Part Three | Real Ghost Stories

The Lutz family claimed they endured 28 days of terrifying paranormal activity inside the infamous house at 112 Ocean Avenue. Their experiences became the basis for a bestselling book and a Hollywood movie, turning Amityville into one of the most recognizable hauntings in history.

But decades later, the Lutz children began sharing their own accounts—and raising troubling questions about their stepfather, George Lutz.

In the final installment of our three-part series, we revisit the haunting claims, the investigations, the accusations of a hoax, and the lasting effects on the family. Could something genuinely paranormal have happened inside the house? Did George's interest in the occult play a role? Or was the real horror something far more human?
