Solidarity with Congo: imperialist looting is cause of the ‘War without end’
Proletarian writers | 30 April 2025 Young children pan for diamonds in a Congolese open-cast red-soiled diamond mine. Child slavery is rampant in the west-backed militia-run cobalt, copper, gold, diamond, coltan and tin mines of Congo, from which huge fortunes are extracted by imperialist corporations. The multitude of unregulated mines under terrorist control are euphemistically referred to by western media as ‘artisanal mines’, but the truth is that their role is to facilitate the plundering of Congo’s vast wealth and human labour-power in the most profitable (and brutal) way possible. Congo’s people have endured genocidal imperialist slavery and war for 140 years – a punishment for living in one of the most resource-rich regions on earth. This resolution was passed unanimously by the tenth party congress of the CPGB-ML. ------------------------------------------- Subscribe! Donate!
