Bradda Head's Ian Stalker: Uranium 'may well be the icing' alongside lithium 'bread and butter'
Bradda Head Lithium Ltd (AIM:BHL) executive chairman Ian Stalker spoke with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company's acquisition of uranium licences in Tanzania, the potential to expand the existing uranium resource, and ongoing progress across its US lithium portfolio. Stalker stressed that Bradda Head remains committed to lithium, with US drilling progressing following the company's recent fundraising, but said its size means it also needs to stay nimble and consider opportunities in other critical minerals. On the Tanzania acquisition, Stalker said: "We think there's a great opportunity that we've got," pointing to growing uranium demand and its role in baseload power generation. The acquired portfolio comprises six licences covering around 1,300 square kilometres and includes an existing compliant uranium resource, with historical work returning grades of around 270 ppm U3O8 and potential to grow the resource through further drilling. He also highlighted the relevance of in-situ recovery methods and the presence of the neighbouring Nyota uranium project, whose infrastructure development could ease access and reduce drilling costs for Bradda Head. Looking ahead, Bradda Head plans to keep advancing its US lithium work while assessing historical Tanzania data ahead of a potential uranium drilling campaign later in March, after the wet season. Stalker described lithium as Bradda Head's "bread and butter," adding that uranium "may well be the icing" as the company builds exposure to both critical mineral opportunities.
