200: Holy Smoke! w/ Bilge Ebiri

Writer and Mark Ruffalo look alike Bilge Ebiri joins us this week to talk all things Jane Campion with her divisive Kate Winslet vehicle, HOLY SMOKE.
We talk about the devolution of the leading man in Hollywood, and how we don't see actors like Harvey Keitel (or as Kenny puts it, "Actors with faces") in movies anymore. We also break down Campion's career, from The Piano, to this week's Netflix release The Power of the Dog, and analyze how she portrays men and women throughout her filmography. We also discuss Kate Winslet's career post-Titanic, the urban character actor, and how this film's shortcomings almost benefit the overall viewing experience.
