1989 Heathers with Lo Kelly

On this episode of Podcast Like It’s 1989, Actor Lo Kelly joins us to talk about bullies, outsiders, and 80s cheese with Michael Lehmann's directorial debut HEATHERS.
What better way to talk about the state of teen romance films in the late 80s, than with a tongue-in-cheek black comedy that riffs on the very best of them? We discuss the influence this movie had on the wrong types of people, and how that parallels the future release of 1999's Fight Club. We also dive into our favorite bits of comedy, the lead performances from Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, and debate the pros and cons of the planned alternate ending.
