とことん現実主義な夫・ウィリアムと、いささか文学少女のように夢見がちな妻・エラ。
4人目の子供を宿しながらも成熟しきれないエラは、旅先で偶然にも憧れだった詩人と同じ宿だと知るや、浮足立ってしまい…。
男と女、それぞれが求める愛のすれ違いが生んだ悲劇。
