Corbin Burnes HERE TO STAY? MLB Insider Drops HUGE D-backs Update

The Arizona Diamondbacks desperately needed some positive news heading into the final stretch of the season, and they may have gotten it from ESPN’s Jeff Passan. Passan believes Corbin Burnes is unlikely to opt out of his contract this offseason, potentially giving the D-backs a major piece of their starting rotation for 2027. We break down Passan’s comments, why they confirm what we’ve believed about Burnes’ future in Arizona, and how having Burnes at the top of the rotation could make the D-backs legitimate contenders again in 2027. Plus, we discuss why getting a healthy Corbin Carroll back could be a massive difference-maker for the D-backs during their playoff push. We also preview the upcoming 3-game series against the Texas Rangers at Chase Field and answer your Mailbag FRIDAY questions!
