The 20 delta rule gets taught as if it is a safety guarantee — and for stable, fundamentally sound businesses it is a genuinely useful probability tool, but on speculative names with high implied volatility it is measuring recent price behavior on a stock that can gap 40 percent on a single news event in a way that has nothing to do with where your strike is placed. This video breaks down exactly how delta is calculated, why the premium looks most attractive on the worst possible candidates, and the two-filter framework — fundamental quality first, delta second — that separates positions worth taking from ones where the math tool cannot even see the real risk.
