Browns Draft Mailbag: Best Player vs. Biggest Need at No. 6

Welcome to another NFL Draft edition of the Orange and Brown Talk podcast. Host Dan Labbe is joined by Cleveland.com film analyst Lance Reisland, and Cleveland.com draft expert Tim Bielik as they open up the mailbag to answer your pressing Browns draft questions. With the Browns holding the No. 6 overall pick, they debate a crucial roster-building philosophy: Do you draft to fill a glaring need, or do you take the best difference-maker available? Reisland pounds the table for a "players over plays" mentality, making his case for drafting elite, field-tilting weapons like Jeremiyah Love or Caleb Downs. Meanwhile, Tim weighs the necessity of shoring up the offensive line with a tackle like Spencer Fano. The trio discusses how new offensive coordinator Todd Monken's system will influence the front office to target explosive playmakers. Later in the show, the crew explores under-the-radar Day 3 options. Could the Browns target a mid-round quarterback like Taylen Green or Haynes King just to run creative Wildcat packages? Who are the best late-round return specialists to completely elevate the special teams unit? Finally, Tim and Lance place their bets on whether Andrew Berry stays at No. 6 or trades down.
