"Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth with Money in My Hand" by Primitive Radio Gods

We’ve discussed close to 150 one hit wonders on the podcast at this point, but none have had as bizarre of a series of events that led to a hit as Primitive Radio Gods. Producer Matt Kelly considers “Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand” not only a song title that he’s sure to butcher in this episode, but also a song that he considers one of the greatest of the 90s. Does the rest of the band’s catalog live up to the moody vibe of this jam though? This week, we try to figure out if Primitive Radio Gods leave us downhearted baby, or if we should bathe ourselves in the zebra flesh of this unique musical project.
