Iran Rial Hits Record Low Ahead of U.S. Sanctions; Trump Administration Eyes $100K+ H-1B Visa Fee
Iran’s currency hit a record low on Aug. 24 as Washington prepared to announce new sanctions it said would add further pressure on an economy already battered by previous sanctions and a U.S. naval blockade. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is due to hold a press conference later on Monday.
The Trump administration on Monday released a proposed regulation to codify a fee of more than $100,000 on certain H-1B visa petitions.
