Patreon Episode #29: "The Second Coming, Part 2: An Analysis of The Forsaken"

Hello and welcome back to the NotACast, the one true chapter-by-chapter podcast that usually goes through A Song of Ice and Fire one chapter a week! But not here, oh no, not here. In this episode (previously available only to our $5+ patrons and now available for everyone), we take a deep dive into "The Forsaken," Aeron Damphair's released chapter from TWOW. If you like what you hear, check out our Patreon for many more bonus episodes and benefits! This week, we: - Frame Aeron's descent as both physical and spiritual - Discuss how George creates Euron as a patchwork villain made of contradictions and eerie juxtapositions - Contextualize Aeron's first drug-induced nightmare within the psychedelic history of the United States - Analyze the apocalyptic imagery of said nightmare - Try and fail to warn Falia Flowers of what's coming for her Next week: our regularly scheduled programming resumes back in Winterfell with Theon as he continues to rule justly and nobly ... or makes a botch of it while having nightmares and getting owned by his sister again. And we'll be joined by a brand new special guest: Alisha Benton!| Our patreon: www.patreon.com/NotACastASOIAF Our twitter: twitter.com/NotACastASOIAF Our facebook: www.facebook.com/groups/289889118235797/ Our youtube page: www.youtube.com/channel/UCmmDfPdG…iew_as=subscriber Emmett's twitter: twitter.com/PoorQuentyn Jeff's twitter: twitter.com/BryndenBFish
