Episode 35: A GAME OF THRONES, EDDARD IX: "Tears in the Rain"

Hello and welcome back to the NotACast, the one true chapter-by-chapter podcast going through A Song of Ice and Fire one chapter a week! Today, Emmett and Jeff unpack AGOT, Eddard IX in which Ned’s melancholy musings on Robert and Lyanna while riding back from visiting a brothel are rudely interrupted by an attack by Jaime Lannister, which leaves Ned wounded and several of his men killed. This week, we: - Talk about the brutal melancholy of the chapter and how GRRM tides the emotions and past experiences in and out. - Class structure as demonstrated by where Ned, Littlefinger and his men are in Chataya's brothel - Jaime, Ned and Littlefinger emoting through their confrontation on the streets of King's Landing - Why Janos Slynt getting killed is satisfying - Who tipped Jaime off about where to find Ned in King's Landing? (It's Littlefinger) Next week: AGOT, Daenerys IV!
