Episode 109: A CLASH OF KINGS, CATELYN IV: “Judgment Day Part 2"

Hello and welcome back to the NotACast, the one true chapter-by-chapter podcast going through A Song of Ice and Fire one chapter a week! In this episode, King Terrorist Renly Baratheon is righteously vaporized by the magical equivalent of a drone strike. This week, we: - Talk about why Robert didn't have sworn men around him - Get into the philosophy and metaphysics of the shadowbaby and its impact on the narrative - Talk about how the shadowbaby attack didn't just kill Renly. It nearly got Brienne killed and very much got Robar Royce and Emmon Cuy killed - The impact of Renly's death on the characters surrounding him: Catelyn, Margaery, Loras, Stannis - Will Brienne kill Stannis? - Was Renly's death justified? Next week: we interrupt our regular chapter-by-chapter flow to bring you an episode all about *sigh* Renly Baratheon. This will be our Patreon episode for the month, but we’ll also be doing it live for all to see on Monday 4/20 at 830 PM EST! Check out our friends we referenced at the start of the podcast!
