The Biggest Red Flag on the Pirates Right Now

Alex Stumpf reacts to the Pirates’ 5-0 loss to the Padres, but this episode is about more than one bad night. Alex digs into what he sees as the biggest early concern on this team: the outfield defense. From Brian Reynolds’ costly misplay to the growing questions around Oneil Cruz in center, he explains why this issue could put extra pressure on the pitching staff and become a real problem over the course of the season. He also touches on Bubba Chandler’s command, Konnor Griffin pressing a bit at the plate, and why the Pirates may not have many easy answers if the defense doesn’t improve.
