The Ebony Canal, a documentary narrated by Viola Davis, merges hollywood and healthcare to tell a story about Black maternal health and infant mortality. The film won 2 Emmys and an NAACP award.

Angela Rye is joined by director Emmai Alaquiva to talk about how he brought the movie to life, and transformed a depressing subject into something uplifting.
