It’s time for another edition of Pete’s Pigskin Preview, presented by RiverLand Roofing. Join MPW Digital football expert Pete DeWeese and 247Sports’ Neal McCready for a look each week at Ole Miss’ opponent as the Rebels go through the 2025 football season. This week, the sixth-ranked Rebels head to New Orleans for the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Allstate Sugar Bowl versus No. 3 Georgia. It’s the second meeting of the season between the Rebels (12-1) and the Southeastern Conference champion Bulldogs (12-1). Georgia defeated Ole Miss, 43-35, in Athens on Oct. 18. This week, DeWeese focuses for a bit on Georgia’s defense before taking a long look at the Bulldogs’ defense as the Bulldogs look to avoid a second consecutive loss in the Sugar Bowl. The winner of the New Year’s night game will advance to the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz., on Jan. 8. Kickoff in the Caesar’s Superdome at 7 p.m.
