Hi my name is DJ Mike Speed, I'm 51 and live in West Yorkshire near Leeds. I've been dj'ing since about 1986.Started off in a youth club playing all kinds of stuff, but early acid house, hip house and classic british hip hop kept appearing in the mix, this is when I started to collect 12" vinyl with my twin brother, there was the odd bit of cheese added at times!In the late part of 1991 we both got shows on the local pirate radio station Wacky FM, I played 9 while midnight every Friday night and also dj'ed with my brother on a sunday morning. We transformed Wacky FM in to a all dance music station nothing like this was being played like this in our area, a longtime before the likes of Kiss FM yorkshire. I also played a regular show on sister station Unique FM in Huddersfield. After a number of DTI raids, it was time to call it a day in 1995.
