The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger

This week we’re reading the NYT bestseller and American classic The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger! Written by a recluse who never allowed the book to be adapted (he wanted to play Holden), this book was first banned and then taught in high schools everywhere! Does it hold up? Listen & find out!

Mean Book Club is four ladies (UCB, BuzzFeed, College Humor, Impractical Jokers) who read, discuss and whine about NYT bestselling books that have questionable literary merit. It's fun. It's cathartic. It's perfect for your commute. New podcast (almost) every Tuesday!

Here’s the book list for Season 9:

- Where The Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
- Rodham by Curtis Sittenfeld
- The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena
- Danielle Steel: Daddy’s Girls by Danielle Steel
